Holiday time

News Flash:  Fall is gone.  It came and went like the wind.  Literally.  We awakened the other day to the reality of Winter!  Ugh!

HolidayBut I have come to appreciate the peacefulness of Winter and the joy of the Holiday Season.  Rhonda and I have two young children and they all too often remind us of how close Christmas must be.  We on the other hand remind them that “They better watch out, they better not pout”!

With that, have you ever noticed that this is the time of year where everyone puts on their best behavior?  The Holidays present a unique once a year opportunity for us all to bury the hatchet and be kind to one another.  We take the time to look our best and make sure others in our lives look their best too.  Mode Salon and Day Spa is a great place to visit this time of year.  Each year we scour the globe to find unique decorative items for the Salon.  The newness and sparkle makes us happy, as we try to imagine how our clients might view them.  Beauty and Image, the business we are in, are ultimately about helping you feel better about yourself.  When you feel better about yourself, you just might be willing to do something nice for someone else in your life.

Let the Holiday Spirit shine through you this season.

How do you experience the Holidays?  We would love for you to share your stories with us.

New York Fall Fashion 2013

New York TaxiWe happened to be in New York City this past weekend, so of course we wanted to scope out the fashion trends for the season!  So here we go:

New Yorkers really know how to move with the seasons and the early sunsets start to bring out darker after work colors.  You will see a lot of dark over coats, waist to full length.  It doesn’t have to be leather, just WARM and fashionable.  They help them blend into the night!  But, color is not lost!  The trends this year are cream and beige colored tops, with COLORFUL Scarves!  You see them everywhere.  It’s the way to quickly dress up, while covering up.  Skinny stretch jeans are also status quo.

You can check out some examples we pulled together on our Pinterest site:

Bottom Line?  Be warm, be practical, but always remember to be fashionable!
